Workforce and Professional Development organizations in the Southeast Texas region work tirelessly to provide our industry with a skilled workforce pipeline.

Skill Development Programs
Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT)
LIT is a two-year public college that supports Beaumont’s need to keep up with the constant workforce demands of the area’s industry. More than 10,000 students are enrolled in more than 50 degree and certificate programs in fields including healthcare, energy, technology, and healthcare. LIT provides customized non-credit education and training programs for a variety of industries. In 2018, LIT was ranked the best community college in Texas by Niche.
ATTRACTING TALENT IN BEAUMONT
Lamar University is a four-year college and member of the Texas State University System. Lamar has nearly doubled enrollment in the past ten years. Graduates from the nursing, education, engineering, and business colleges provide a pipeline of competitive workforce to the area’s growing industries. Engineering graduates rank No. 1 in Texas and No. 3 in the country for 20-year net income, ahead of Rice, Stanford and MIT, as noted by PayScale.com. The university has been ranked as a best value school for students pursuing engineering as a major by PayScale’s 2017 College Return on Investment report, and is ranked the 9th best university in the state of Texas by the U.S. News and World Report.

SETX YPO is an organization of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 40, living in Hardin, Jefferson and Orange Counties, interested in making a difference in their community and networking with other young professionals with similar interests.

Workforce Solutions of Southeast Texas helps businesses stay productive through a range of services that match employers with qualified job candidates, train incumbent workers, and provide information to help businesses with employment issues.

Associated Builders and Contractors​
With 21,000 plus members throughout the nation, ABC provides the strength in numbers to be heard on issues affecting the construction industry. ABC is the only construction trade group that represents the entire construction team: general contractors, specialty contractors, suppliers, and industry professional

Industry Safety Training Council​​
The Industrial Safety Training Council is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit training and education organization located in Southeast Texas. With a location in Baytown, Texas and Corporate offices in Nederland, Texas, (just south of Beaumont, Texas) ISTC delivers safety training and site-specific job safety orientations to contractors, as well as the employees of 76 local Refining and Chemical plants.

Golden Triangle Business Roundtable
The Golden Triangle Business Roundtable is comprised of a broad cross-section of owner interests associated with many sectors of local business including member companies who are users of construction and maintenance services in their day-to-day operations.

The Leadership Beaumont Program identifies mid-level executives with strong leadership potential, providing them with opportunities to engage in the region’s business and civic communities, and acquire skills to lead organizations into the next decade and beyond.
